A Horological Nightmare

Came across this strange wall sculpture near the Pompidou Centre. It's called Le Défenseur du Temps (The Defender of Time) and the figure with the sword attacks the bird, the dragon and the crab which represent Air, Earth and Water every hour except at lunchtime when all three creatures attack together. At least they would if money for the upkeep hadn't run out as it hasn't worked in years. It used to be accompanied with sound effects.
